THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, seat sharing has been completed in the LDF. CPM will contest in 15 seats and CPI in four seats. One seat is for Kerala Congress-M.

The Mani section of the Kerala Congress, which had come to the fore before the last assembly elections, had demanded one more seat in addition to its sitting seat in Kottayam. However, the demand was not accepted in bilateral talks. So far, CPM used to contest in 16 seats. With Kottayam seat handed over to Kerala Congress, it became 15. The decision will be officially announced after the LDF meeting on February 10.

The CPM state secretariat will meet on February 10 and the state committee meeting on February 11 and 12. Preliminary discussions on candidate selection may take place in the meeting. The CPI state executive will meet on 9 and the state council on 10 and 11. The meeting will also hold discussions regarding the selection of candidates in all the four constituencies.
