BMW car at Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's house; owner another billionaire

NEW DELHI: The BMW car seized from former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's house in Delhi does not belong to him. According to Enforcement Directorate officials, the real owner of the car is Dheeraj Prasad Sahu, a Congress Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand.
The car is registered in the name of the company owned by Sahu. Income tax officials had raided his house in December and seized Rs 351 crore. The footage of several officers counting money using around 10 note counting machines had came out that day.
Neither the Congress nor other opposition parties had intervened in the case of Sahu's money being seized by the officials. The leadership had said that the party had nothing to do with this money. Sahu himself had admitted then that he had received the money from his liquor business.
It took ten days to count the seized money. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate has sent a notice to Sahu asking him to appear before the investigating officers on Saturday in connection with the seizure of the BMW car from Soren's house.
