Five-year-old girl dies while undergoing treatment for vomiting in Idukki

VANDIPERIYAR: A five-year-old girl admitted in the hospital following vomiting, has died. The incident happened last evening at Vandiperiyar in Idukki. The dead is Arya, daughter of Shijo of Vandiperiyar.

The girl was admitted to a private hospital in Vallakadavu following severe vomiting. She was discharged after the treatment. On reaching home, she started vomiting again and was brought to the same hospital. They were directed to take her to Peerumedu taluk hospital and she died on way to the hospital. The body is presently in Peerumedu taluk hospital. Only after postmortem, the cause of death will be known.

She had gone to Gavi with her grandfather. Her family said that she had ice cream from there. Arya’s sister had also accompanied her. She started vomiting on reaching home. The body will be handed over to the family after postmortem.
