KOLLAM: A frantic search to trace the students, who went missing from Pattazhy, went in vain. The two were found drowned in Kallada River. The two have been identified as Amal and Adithyan, ninth class students of Vendar Sreevidyadhi Raja School. The children went missing on Thursday afternoon.

The initial reports said the children may have drowned while bathing in the river. After returning from school, the children went to bathe in the river without telling anybody. A temple fest is going on in the area. The parents first thought that they might have gone there.

When the children did not reach home even after a long time, the relatives lodged a complaint with the police. The bodies were found in a search conducted by the police, fire force and locals. Inquest proceedings are progressing.
