KALPETTA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday convened a high-level meeting in the wake of strong public protests following the death of two people in wild elephant attacks in Wayanad. The meeting decided to send a three-member team of ministers to Wayanad. Forest Minister AK Saseendran, Revenue Minister K Rajan and Local Self-Government Minister MB Rajesh will arrive in Wayanad.
It was decided in the meeting to install 250 cameras in areas where wild animal attacks are rampant. All three ministers will head to Wayanad and hold a meeting at the Collectorate there. It was also decided to appoint more officers of the forest department and police department in the affected areas. Chief Secretary V Venu, DGP Sheikh Darvesh Saheb, Forest Department Additional Chief Secretary R Jyothilal and others attended the high-level meeting.
