KALPETTA: Four ministers from LDF will visit a protest hit Wayanad on Tuesday as strong protests continue from locals against the recurring wild animal attacks. Ministers K Rajan, A K Saseendran, K Radhakrishnan and M B Rajesh are the ministers set to visit Wayanad on Tuesday, in a major attempt to restore good relations with the locals.

The ministers will participate in the meeting of political party leaders of the district at 10 am at the Sultan Bathery Municipal Town Hall followed by another high-level meeting.

The ministers will also visit the house of V P Paul and Ajeesh who were trampled to death by rogue elephants in Wayanad. They will also visit the house of Vakery native Prajeesh who was mauled to death by a tiger.

Despite the continuing human death due to wild animal attacks in Wayanad, hitherto, no minister or representative of the government cared to visit the place to offer condolence to the victims’ families.

Minister A K Saseendran received brickbats from Wayanad natives for his dry response to the protest and his stern decision not to visit Wayanad even after the tensions spiralled out of control. Security has been beefed up given the possibility of protests against the ministerial team.

BJP has announced that they will block the four ministers on their way to Wayanad. UDF meanwhile will hold a day and night protest in front of the Wayanad Collectorate in protest against wild animal harassment. K. Muraleedharan MP will inaugurate the function at 10 am on Tuesday.
