KOCHI: Opposition leader V D Satheesan has posed five questions to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan following the Karnataka High Court's verdict in the monthly payment controversy. Speaking at a press conference, Satheesan challenged the Chief Minister to disclose investigation details regarding his daughter Veena's company highlighting Vijayan's silence on the matter.
Satheesan's questions
1) The Karnataka High Court ruling exposed that the Registrar of Companies (ROC) issued a notice on January 29, 2021, regarding financial transactions between a private company and Veena Vijayan allowing the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) to proceed with its investigation. How was the probe initiated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) resolved before the 2021 elections?
2) Despite Chief Minister Vijayan's assertion in the Assembly that his daughter's arguments were not heard during the Income Tax Interim Settlement Board order, the ROC report contradicts this. Will the Chief Minister disclose which agencies are conducting investigations?
3) The ROC's findings indicate that funds were transferred to Veena and Exalogic from various entities apart from the private company. Will the Chief Minister have the courage to disclose the identities of these entities?
4) Has the government provided any benefits including tax deductions to Veena and the companies that made monthly payments?
5) The entire loan amount received from the owner of the black sand company's firm through the bank has not reached Veena's company account. Can the Chief Minister clarify where these funds were directed?
