Cabinet rank for Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister; Decision taken in cabinet meeting

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a recent cabinet meeting, it was decided to grant Cabinet rank to Dr KM Abraham, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Additionally, the implementation of the 11th pay revision for employees of the State Science, Technology and Environment Council along with allied research institutes, was approved.

Police Department Expansion and Financial Assistance

Further decisions included the creation of 190 police constable driver positions within the police department. In a gesture of support, financial aid of Rs. 10 lakh was sanctioned to Jiji T T, a resident of Idukki Melechinnar, whose property suffered damage during the floods of 2018 and 2019. The assistance includes Rs. 6 lakh for property purchase and Rs. 4 lakh for housing, sourced from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and Disaster Response Fund.

Development projects approval

Under the Kasaragod and Wayanad development packages, administrative approval was granted for several projects:

Kasaragod Package:

- Banthadukka Veetiadi Chamundikun Balamanthode Road: Rs. 8.50 Crore

- Periya Odayanchal Road: Rs. 6 Crores

- Chalingkal Meengotta Ambalathara Road: Rs. 5.64 Crores

Wayanad Package:

- Allocation of Rs. 4.28 Crores for clean milk production and distribution of hygiene kits.

Appointments and Service Extensions

Jorty M. Chacko has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Kerala Bank following the recommendation of a selection committee headed by the Chief Secretary. Additionally, Sanop KAS has been temporarily appointed for a one-year period by the Kerala State IT Mission.

Furthermore, six existing employees of the government-taken-up Pariyaram Medical College Public School, who meet age and qualification criteria, have been appointed. Additionally, the upper age limit for ex-servicemen in the appointment to the post of Ilav Munsif Magistrate has been relaxed by five years, through an amendment to the Kerala Judicial Service Rules, 1991.
