100 quintals of Bharat rice sold out in an hour; Record sales reported in Kannur

KANNUR: Bharat Rice introduced by the central government is winning accolades in Kerala. Interestingly, 100 quintals of Bharat rice were sold in just one and a half hours after it was brought to Kalliasseri panchayat’s fifth ward.

The sale was led by local BJP workers CV Sumesh, PR Rajan, Rajeev Kalliasseri, Arun Kaithapram, Prakashan Keechery, Sathyan Karikin and OP Ratheesh. Almost 1000 people reached the spot to purchase the rice.

Bharat rice was also delivered to Maramkulangara in Alappuzha the other day. The locals gathered after hearing the information. Finally, it was distributed to 1000 people on a token basis. Most people purchased the 10kg packet. Bharat rice is expected to reach more regions in the state in the coming days.
