One more farmer during protest, family of deceased Shubhkaran rejects Rs 1 cr financial aid announced by govt

NEW DELHI: One more person died during the 'Dilli Chalo' march by farmers against the central government's anti-farmer policies. The deceased Darshan Singh (63), a native of Bhatinda, collapsed at the Khanauri border. He was rushed to the hospital but died at 11 am today. Doctors said he died of a heart attack.

Farmers organization BKU demanded compensation to the family of the deceased farmer. The farmers' organizations also demanded that the government should take steps to prevent farmers from dying at the border. The body is in the government hospital mortuary in Patiala.

A 21-year-old farmer, Shubhkaran Singh, was killed in police action at Khanauri on the Haryana-Punjab border on Wednesday. The body of Shubhkaran Singh is kept in Patiala hospital. All the main farmer leaders remain in the hospital. Even after 48 hours of the incident, the Punjab Police has not been able to register the case or arrest the accused.

Meanwhile, the family of Shubhkaran Singh rejected the Rs 1 crore financial assistance announced by the Punjab government. The family said that what their son wants is justice and money or work will not replace it. The Punjab government had also announced a government job for Shubhkaran's younger sister.along with financial assistance of Rs 1 crore for his family.
