Hideous work near Nagampadam Siva Temple that went unnoticed; Rajasthan native arrested

KOTTAYAM: A migrant worker was arrested in Kottayam for possession of banned ganja and heroin. Jitu Gurjar, a native of Rajasthan, was caught by excise with 850 grams of ganja and 9.2 grams of heroin. Excise Special Squad Circle Inspector P Sreeraj and his team nabbed the accused from his house near Nattassery Nagampadam Siva Temple Maidan.

Assistant Excise Inspectors Binod KR, Anu V Gopinath, Baijumon KC, Civil Excise Officer Anish Raj, Nifi Jacob and Sabita KK were part of the team.

In another inspection, Excise seized 95 litres of Indian-made foreign liquor brought in an auto-rickshaw for illegal sale in Attapadi. A team led by Mannarkkad Circle Inspector Adarsh ​ arrested three accused after seizing liquor during the vehicle inspection.

The excise vehicle inspection was near the Anamooli forest check post on Mannarkkad Anaikatti road. Mohammad Mustafa, Shameer and Santhosh, natives of Thenkara, were arrested for smuggling liquor.
