THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has expressed his displeasure at the unscrupulous conduct of KPCC president K Sudhakaran, who hurled expletives at Satheesan in one major gaffe during Saturday's press conference.
There are also reports that Satheesan threatened party leadership saying he would step down from the opposition leader post, after repeated such feuds with Sudhakaran. And now, to ameliorate tensions, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal is intervening in the matter.
The high command has warned that such public spats could torpedo the party's prospects of winning the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, Sudhakaran dismissed Satheesan’s resignation news as a rumour. The KPCC president also denied having any grudge against Satheesan. He also confirmed about talking the incident with the opposition leader and ending all quibbles. Sudhakran put all blame on the media for snowballing the incident.
The incident happened during a press conference organized in Alappuzha as part of the Congress Samaragni rally. V D Satheeshan’s delay in reaching the event incensed Sudhakaran who hurled an expletive, only to later realise that the microphone in front of him was functioning.
