THRISSUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan gave a harsh reply to lyricist Shibu Chakravarthy in a face-to-face meeting with cultural workers. "It has been 10 years since the start of KR Narayanan Film Institute. If this was a child, it was an age for it to run around. But it is not running", Shibu Chakravarthy had earlier asked.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan replied that he should not speak wrongly about a well-functioning institution. Shibu Chakravarthy raised the question whether an institute named as International Film Institute should be raised at least to national level. The Chief Minister also asked if one can criticize in such a way after getting an opportunity to express his opinion.
Media workers excluded
In the face-to-face program held by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan with the art and cultural activists as a continuation of the Nava Kerala Sadas, prominent people have put forward their demands. Media workers were excluded from the face-to-face meeting that started after the Chief Minister's speech. Karivelloor Murali, the secretary of Sangeet Natak Akademi, who hosted the event, requested asked the media persons to leave as it is a private function.
