Lok Sabha polls: Two candidates for Twenty20

KIZHAKKAMBALAM: Twenty20 has announced its candidates in Chalakudy and Ernakulam constituencies for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. State President Sabu M Jacob said that Charlie Paul (60) will contest in Chalakudy, while Antony Judy (28) will be the party's candidate in Ernakulam. The announcement was made at a public meeting of Twenty20 at Kizhakkambalam.

Addressing the meeting, Sabu M Thomas said that Twenty20 will continue to operate independently without joining any front. He also challenged the CPM leadership to arrest him.

"If you arrest me, I have the evidence to put the Chief Minister's daughter Veena in jail the very next day. What I have with me is an atom bomb. No one will be able to stop me," Sabu said.

"The UDF had offered me a seat in 2021. People, including a current minister of the CPM, came in secret and offered me a seat. I don't know for whom the Chief Minister denounced me. I was with him even when he went for treatment at the Mayo Clinic in the US," he added.

Twenty20 Kunnathunad constituency president GB Abraham presided over the function. Adv Jaishankar delivered the keynote address. Vice President V. Gopakumar, Dr Haroon M. Pillay, Benny Joseph, Saji Thomas and VS Kunjumuhammed spoke at the function.
