Lok Sabha elections; CPI candidate list out, Annie Raja in Wayanad, Pannyan Raveenndran from Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The list of CPI candidates for the Lok Sabha elections is out. CA Arun Kumar will contest from Mavelikkara. The CPI state executive rejected the opposition of the district council. VS Sunil Kumar in Thrissur, Annie Raja in Wayanad and Pannyan Raveendran in Thiruvananthapuram will also be candidates. The decision taken by the CPI executive was announced after the CPI council meeting this evening.

CPI Kollam District Council had prepared a list of three possible candidates including Deputy Speaker Chittayam Gopakumar in the Mavelikkara Lok Sabha constituency. The Kollam District Council meeting gave the list to the state leadership without considering and excluding Adv. CA Arun Kumar, who was considered by the CPI state leadership. However, this list was completely rejected and Arun Kumar was made a candidate. CA Arun Kumar is a member of the CPI Alappuzha district council. He is also a member of the state committee of AIF. He is the additional private secretary to Minister P Prasad.
