NEW DELHI: Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami had sustained a heel injury after India's World Cup campaign last year. The cricketer, who recently underwent surgery in the UK, shared an update on his health on social media the other day. Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended wishes to the cricketer.
Shami wrote on X that the surgery was a success and he will be back on the cricket field soon. Retweeting this post, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Shami a speedy recovery.

Mohammed Shami delivered an outstanding performance throughout the World Cup, even though India lost to Australia in the final. With 24 wickets in 7 matches, Shami was the tournament's top wicket-taker. The cricket player was recently honoured by the country with the coveted Arjuna Award.
