MUMBAI: Former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard is currently at the receiving end of harsh criticism after he decided to leave the Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament midway to attend Anand Ambani's wedding. Pollard, who is a part of the PSL team Karachi Kings, arrived in Jamnagar, Gujarat on March 1.
Videos of Pollard arriving at Jamnagar went viral and also paved the way for strong criticism from the other side of the border. Some made sarcastic remarks saying that Pollard attended the wedding ceremony in India, only after destroying Babar Azam led Peshawar Zalmi’s chances in the PSL after scoring an unbeaten 49 runs from 21 balls.

Some people even doubted the dedication of the player who would easily opt for some glittering event leaving his team in tatters. Meanwhile, Indian meme creators heavily scoffed at the laughable stature of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Pollard is part of the Mumbai Indians IPL team owned by Mukesh Ambani's Reliance. Pollard is also part of Reliance's own SA20 and ILT20. Other famous stars part of Reliance-owned teams were also present at the wedding.
Amidst the raining trolls, Pollard has now landed in Pakistan and will take part in Karachi Kings' clash against Multan Sultans on Sunday.
