amal-raggign-case

KOYILANDY: Five students were suspended in connection with the ragging and assault case at Koyilandy R Sankar College. The principal suspended two persons on the complaint of C R Amal, who was brutally beaten up by the SFI workers, while the other three were suspended on the complaint of Anunath, who is accused of the incident. Anunath filed a complaint alleging being beaten up by Amal’s friends.

On Amal's complaint, action has been taken against SFI unit secretary AR Anunath (1st year BBA) and union chairman Akhil Krishna (2nd year BSc Chemistry). In Anunath's complaint, Muhammad Shafaq (2nd year BA), C. Adityan (2nd year BBA), and P.K. Adarsh (2nd year BCom) were suspended. The action was taken after a preliminary investigation conducted by the college authorities found all five guilty.

The principal informed that further action would be taken after receiving the report of the commission of inquiry and a ragging committee appointed by the college. A police investigation is in progress on Amal's complaint.

The KSU leadership blocked the principal in protest for remaining stagnant even after complaints about SFI atrocities in the college. KSU state committee member AK Janib alleged that SFI leaders had written a fake complaint to cover up the incident. The KSU leaders demanded all the SFI leaders who attacked Amal be expelled from the college. The KSU leaders said that while two people were suspended on the complaint of Amal, who was beaten up, three innocent people were suspended on the complaint filed by the assailants.
