THRISSUR: Not a day passed since a senile woman was trampled to death by an elephant in Kothamangalam, and comes another horrific news about two deaths in wild animal attacks in Kerala on Tuesday. Valsa(62) was trampled to death by a wild tusker in Thrissur. Valsa is the wife of Tribal chief Rajan in Peringalkuthu tribal colony.
The attack took place when she went to collect forest resources. Valsa died of head injuries after being hit by the trunk of the elephant.
In another case, Farmer Palatil Abraham (62) died in a wild bison attack in Kozhikode’s Kakkayam. Abraham was stabbed in the chest by the wild beast. Locals have reported sighting the wild bison in the area on Monday.
Thus, the situation regarding recurring wild animal attacks in Kerala has aggravated, with the opposition expected to ramp up their protest against the government for the languid efforts undertaken to curb such calamities.
