murder

IDUKKI: The remains of a body were found in the Kattappana double murder case. The skull and bones were recovered from the rented house at Kakkattukada in Kanchiyar Panchayat of Kattappana.

The body were found buried in a sitting position. This was found in an inspection conducted after digging the floor of the room. Parts of pants, shirt and belt were also found.
The hammer used to commit the crime was found earlier. Nithish alias Rajesh (31), accused of Kanchiar Puthenpurakkal, had earlier given a statement that he killed Vijayan after bludgeoning him to death with a hammer and then buried the body inside the house. The police are collecting evidence with the accused.

The information in connection with the double murder came to light when Nithish and Vishnu were arrested in a theft case on March 2. Vijayan murdered is Vishnu’s father.
Vijayan and the newborn baby of Vishnu's sister were killed and buried on two occasions. The newborn baby was killed in 2016. The baby was buried in the house where the family lived earlier in Kattappana. It is believed that Nithish entered the house by taking advantage of the superstition of the murdered Vijayan and his family members.
