PATHANAMTHITTA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that 'lotus will soon bloom' in Kerala. He also said that he wants to give the energy of youth to the people of Kerala. Modi was speaking during the election campaign of BJP candidate Anil Antony at Pathanamthitta District Stadium.
Modi began his speech in Malayalam. "On seeing the energetic atmosphere here, I understood that lotus will definitely bloom in Kerala this time. This time, the BJP will cross double-digit seats in Kerala. I want to give the energy of youth to the people of Kerala. Anil Antony is a symbol of youth. This is necessary for the modernization of Kerala," Modi said.
"The successive governments that came to power in Kerala are known for corruption and mismanagement. People know how much loss the LDF and the UDF are causing to the state. The rubber farmers of Kerala are going through so much difficulty. However, the LDF and UDF in Kerala are turning a blind eye towards it. Even Christian priests in Kerala are being attacked by them. How many college campuses in the state have become the dens of communists? Here women and youth live in fear. If you want to get rid of this predicament, you have to break the cycle of consecutive LDF, and UDF governments. Here LDF and UDF are fighting each other. However, they are one at the national level," he said.
BJP state president K Surendran also spoke at the venue. Narendra Modi was welcomed to the stage by the BJP candidates contesting in various constituencies. This is the Prime Minister's third visit to Kerala in the last two months. Modi arrived at Thiruvananthapuram airport this morning and attended a public meeting in Kanyakumari.
