'They did no wrong, I support their decision'; Chandy Oommen on Padmaja and Anil's decision to join BJP

MUMBAI: Congress MLA Chandy Oommen on Saturday offered a pragmatic response to former Congress leaders Anil Antony and Padmaja Venugopal’s decision to join BJP.

“I find nothing wrong with their decision. They have the right to decide” Chandy Oommen reacted to the media when asked about his response to the recent influx of congress workers into the BJP.

Chandy Oommen clarified that Congress is his party and Rahul Gandhi is his leader. He also shared the hope that the Congress would come back to power. The former CM’s son also rebuked the irascible statement produced by youth congress state president Rahul Mamkootathil and admitted that he would never react in such a way.

Rahul Mamkootathil’s disparaging remark came while reacting to the shocking decision of former congress leader Padmaja Venugopal to join BJP.

Meanwhile, Padmaja Venugopal while attending a rally in Pathanamthitta implicitly invited her brother Muraleedharan to join BJP. She opined Muraleedharan as a man of late decisions and held hope about her brother soon jumping ship to join the saffron outfit.
