Youth ends life after wife leaves him, woman refuses to accept children

KOLLAM: Disturbed over his wife leaving him, a youth committed suicide by hanging. Rajesh (43) of R R Nivas of Chavara Pudukkad was found dead at his rented house in Madapally. Rajesh's wife Jisha has been missing since March 3. The police started investigation after Rajesh lodged a missing complaint.

It is believed that while Rajesh was trying to hang himself, the rope broke and he fell down. The children saw Rajesh lying with a rope around his neck and they immediately informed the neighbours. Rajesh's post-mortem was completed at 4:30 in the evening.

Rajesh has two children aged five and three. Meanwhile, the police informed Jisha about the death of Rajesh. However, Jisha told police that she cannot accept her children. The relatives were also not ready to take the responsibility of the children. Finally, after the intervention of MLA Sujith Vijayanpillai and Panchayat President J R Suresh Kumar, the Child Welfare Committee took over the protection of the children.
