Man kills 23-year-old youth by dousing petrol in Chadayamangalam for nagging wife

KOLLAM: A 23-year-old youth died after a man set him ablaze by pouring petrol on him, for nagging his wife. The dead has been identified as Kalesh of Kunnumpuram in Chadayamangalam. Kalesh, who sustained serious burns in the attack of Sanal of Chadayamangalam, died while undergoing treatment at Paripally Medical College Hospital. Soon after committing the crime, he surrendered at the Chadayamanglam police station. He has been remanded.

Police said Sanal killed the youth for continuously nagging his wife. Sanal barged into the firm where Kalesh was working with a bucket of petrol, poured it on his body and set him afire. After pouring petrol, the accused threw a torch on the body of Kalesh, who ran for his life. The visuals of the youth screaming and running had surfaced. The natives of the area immediately took him to the hospital. The condition of the youth who sustained 80% burns was very serious.
