Abhimanyu murder case: Copy of missing crucial documents handed over to trial court

abhimanyu-

KOCHI: The prosecution today handed over the copy of the missing crucial documents in the murder case of Abhimanyu, a student of Maharajas College and SFI leader, to the trial court. Certified copies of about 11 documents which went missing from the trial court earlier have now been produced. Although the defendant objected to the production of the recreated documents, the court did not accept that. The court said that it is not possible to object to the submission of documents and if there is a difference from the documents received earlier, the same can be raised. The case will be considered on March 25th.

Abhimanyu, a native of Vattavada in Idukki was killed on July 1, 2018 in the college. The accused in the incident are Campus Front-Popular Front workers. Important documents went missing from the trial court when the trial proceedings in Abhimanyu's murder case were about to begin. Abhimanyu's family and CPM demanded that there is mystery in this and sought an investigation.

The documents went missing from the court in 2019. However, the court noticed this in last September and directed to recreate the documents. The court said that it is common for such documents to get lost and finding it somewhere else. It cannot be considered that this has happened only in this case. An investigation is underway into it. The court informed that the trial proceedings will not be delayed due to this.
