NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has rejected the survivor’s plea to change the trial court in the actress assault case. SC refused to interfere in the High Court verdict in the case. “Changing the trial court would create a wrong perception,” said the court. The court asked whether there was any evidence of close ties between Dileep and the trial court judge. The court also sought evidence to prove that the accused and the judge were in contact.
The court stated that the survivor’s apprehensions regarding a possible interference in a fair trial were not reasonable and such allegation will pollute the judiciary. Justice Ajay Rastogi heard the case. The court asked how the judge could be suspected if there is allegation against husband. The court rejected the victim’s plea asking whether such allegations would put judicial officer under pressure.
