Hareesh Peradi requests Ramakrishnan not to apply makeup while playing mohiniyattam

Actor Hareesh Peradi came forward criticizing Kalamandalam Satyabhama for her casteist remarks towards Kalabhavan Mani's brother RLV Ramakrishnan. He responded on Facebook that they need the mohiniyattam of Ramakrishnan who has the complexion of a crow.

Hareesh Peradi asked Ramakrishnan not to apply makeup while playing mohiniyattam. Satyabhamam made the controversial remark in an interview given to a YouTube channel.

‘Those who play Mohiniyattam should always be mohinis. Ramakrishnan has the colour of a crow. It is an art form playing after keeping your feet apart. There is nothing more awkward than a man playing the artform keeping his legs apart. According to me, men playing Mohiniyattam should have some beauty. Aren't there handsome boys? Not even his mother will bear his looks,’ said Kalamandalam Sathyabhama.
