CPM to make CAA an election campaign issue; Chief Minister to lead mass rally in five places

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM has decided to intensify the campaign against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) passed by the central government ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. As part of this, the party will organise anti-CAA mass rallies led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in five constituencies.

Mass rallies against CAA will be organized with the slogan that religion should not be the basis of citizenship. The rally, which will start from Kozhikode on Friday, will conclude on the 27th in the Kollam constituency.

Mass rallies are scheduled to be held in five constituencies where the CPM is contesting in the state. After the rally in Kozhikode on Friday, the rally in Kasaragod will take place on March 23. Rallies will be held in Kannur on March 24, Malappuram on March 25 and Kollam on March 27. The Chief Minister's campaign programs related to the Lok Sabha elections are scheduled from March 30 to April 22.

The Chief Minister will start the election campaign after the anti-CAA rallies. The first campaign program will begin on March 30 in Thiruvananthapuram. The campaign programs will come to an end on April 22 in Kannur.
