NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal filed a petition in the Delhi High Court questioning the release of ED in custody in the liquor policy case. Kejriwal approached the High Court against the Delhi Rouse Court order. The petition says that the petition should be considered urgently and the arrest and detention are illegal.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on Thursday night in the liquor case. The Rouse Avenue court remanded Kejriwal in ED custody for six days till March 28.
ED had alleged in the court that Kejriwal was the mastermind of the liquor policy scam. He was directly involved in the formulation of liquor policy. ED has alleged in the court that Kejriwal made crores of rupees through corruption and used this money in the Goa elections. CBI was the first to file a case and start investigation in the liquor policy case. After the ED's questioning, the CBI will also file an application in the trial court demanding that Kejriwal be kept in custody for 10 days.
