Bineesh (26), hailing from Parandod in Aryanad and Jayan (47), a resident of Mullankal, were apprehended by the Kattakkada police. The revelation came to light after the bank authorities detected eight counterfeit Rs 500 notes in the CDM the previous day.

The actual perpetrators were identified through CCTV footage analysis. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Bineesh had deposited the money into his mother's account. Subsequently, the bank manager filed a complaint with the Kattakkada police. Jayan, Bineesh's cousin, was also arrested following a thorough search subsequent to Bineesh's apprehension. The police stated that they are investigating whether the suspects distributed such counterfeit notes elsewhere. The accused were presented before the Kattakkada court and remanded into custody.
