Three injured in attack towards CPM activists in Kannur; RSS behind act, allege CPM

KANNUR: Three CPM workers were hacked in Mattannur at Ayyallur in Mattannur at around 10 pm last night. A group attacked the party workers sitting at the bus stop. CPM workers Sunob, Rijin and Latheesh were injured in the attack. They have been admitted to a cooperative hospital in Kannur.


It is reported that there was some dispute in the area. Meantime, the CPM accused the RSS of carrying out the attack. CPM district secretary T V Rajesh and other district leaders visited the injured. Mattanur police have registered a case and has started an investigation.


A few days ago, there was an attack on CPM workers in the district. An eight-member gang attacked CPM workers in Thalassery Kunduchira Sayahna Nagar. A worker fell into a well while trying to escape from the attack. Subin was injured after falling into the well in Kunduchira Chemmon House. Sandeep and Ramith were admitted in the hospital. Ramith sustained serious injuries.
