Brutal attack by father; mystery over child’s death in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: The death of a two-and-a half-year-old child in Udirampoyil is mysterious. Nazrin, daughter of Muhammed Faiz of Kalikkavu died after food got stuck in her throat. The incident happened Sunday evening. Faiz took the child to the hospital saying that food got stuck in her throat. The police have informed that the actual cause of death will be known only after the post mortem.

The child’s mother and relatives have lodged a complaint alleging the death of the child as mysterious. Her relatives alleged that Nazrin was beaten to death by Faiz. The relatives said there were beat marks on her body. Her mother told police that he had threatened to kill Nazrin several times. Relatives alleged that he threw the baby on the bed while beating her and Nazrin died before reaching the hospital. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
