200 grams of MDMA seized in Malappuram lodge raid; Suspect evades authorities

MALAPPURAM: 200 grams of MDMA were seized by a team led by Malappuram Excise Special Squad Circle Inspector R B Sajikumar from a private lodge. The drugs were concealed inside candy wrappers and were recovered from the room of Anas P, a resident of Kuttipuram, Malappuram. Excise officials stated that Anas P was a regular occupant of the room.

The Excise department had been conducting surveillance on the room and its surroundings for several days before the seizure. MDMA was found during a search of the room. Upon realizing the presence of Excise officials, the accused fled. Excise authorities have stated that efforts to locate the suspect have been intensified.

The Excise team involved in the operation included Assistant Excise Inspector Abdul Wahab, Preventive Officers Prabhakaran Pallath and Shefir Ali P, Civil Excise Officers Salina, Muhammad Ali and Civil Excise Officer Driver Nisar.
