Housewife found murdered in Kothamangalam, turmeric powder sprinkled all over; ornaments have gone missing, say relatives

KOCHI: A 72-year-old woman was found murdered at her home in Kothamangalam. The deceased has been identified as Saramma, who lives in Kalladu in Kothamangalam. According to preliminary information, the attacker killed her by smashing her head. Relatives said that four bangles and a gold necklace worn by Saramma were missing.

The information about the murder came out around 3.45 pm. It was Saramma's daughter who discovered the body when she returned from work. Following this, she informed the police. Police, forensic experts and the dog squad soon reached the spot. According to the police, Saramma was sitting at the dining table after eating when she was hit from behind with a deadly weapon. The culprit sprinkled turmeric powder all over the place after committing the crime.
