Woman meets tragic end after her scooter collides with container lorry; accident took place while she was going to buy birthday present for husband

KOTTAYAM: A woman met a tragic end after her scooter collided with a container lorry in Kottayam. The deceased has been identified as Binoyi (48), the wife of Kottayam Neerikkad native Binoy. The accident took place on the Nagampadam bridge at around 6 pm today evening.

Binoyi was on her way to buy a birthday present for her husband when she met with the accident. Her husband Binoy was also there with her. The two were going to the city when the lorry hit their scooter. The cause of death was the serious injury sustained on the head when she fell on the road. Binoy escaped without serious injuries. Binoyii had been doing wholesale sales by delivering powdered products and spices to shops in her autorickshaw. The couple has two children: Ganga (Fashion Designer) and Gayathri (Class 10 student).

The body is currently kept at the mortuary of the Kottayam Medical College Hospital. It will be handed over to the relatives tomorrow after the postmortem.
