THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Jayaprakash, father of J S Siddharth, second year student of Pookode Veterinary College, said the probe over his son’s death is moving at a snail’s pace. He said that if the investigation is delayed, he will protest in front of the Cliff House. Jayaprakash was responding to the media after meeting opposition leader V D Satheesan.

'He came to a place of faith in connection over the investigation of his son's death. Met BJP candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar the other day. Now met opposition leader V D Satheesan. Should really go to the ruling front for justice. You yourself know what the situation would be after approaching them. Heard that the CBI will come to investigate.

The final report released by the anti-ragging squad has details of three girls and some students. They have not yet come before the law. Why are they kept apart? They should be arrested and questioned. If not, will proceed with other action. If the investigation is delayed, protests will be staged in front of the Cliff House. No longer wants to meet Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Jayaprakash said that he had not held any discussions with the opposition leader regarding the protests.

The final report of the anti-ragging committee on Siddharth's death was released the other day. The report has shocking information that Siddharth was subjected to brutal harassment in the college. Siddharth was often harassed nakedly. The punishment for Siddharth was that he should appear before K Arun, president of the college union and member of the SFI unit committee, every day.

The reason for the harassment was Siddharth's growing popularity as a photographer among students. Siddharth was brutally beaten for three days in the college. However, the anti-ragging committee prepared the final report on the basis of the statement collected including from Siddharth's classmate. The anti-ragging committee recorded the statements of 166 children. It is sad that the teachers involved in the anti-ragging committee did not know about the harassment that lasted for eight months. It is also said that Siddharth was tied to a pole and harassed on his birthday.
