THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In order to increase revenue, KSRTC has put on hold the 'reform' of raising the fares of e-buses running as ordinary services for the time being.
Even though the move to increase the charge of e-buses was blocked by the CPM state leadership, ordinary e-buses were made city fasts to increase the fares. 16 buses have been included in the fast category. This was frozen when Kerala Kaumudi reported it on March 21. The move was to expand to other districts if more revenue is found in Thiruvananthapuram.
Rate reduction has become old story
When Antony Raju was the minister, the transport department was planning to reduce the fares when e-bus services became profitable in Thiruvananthapyram. A report was also prepared regarding the revision of the minimum fare to five rupees. When the minister of the department was changed, the rate was increased.
