Man kills daughters in Kozhikode, commits suicide by jumping before train

KOZHIKODE: A man allegedly killed his two daughters and later committed suicide by jumping before a train. The incident happened at Payyoli in Kozhikode. The dead are Sumesh (42), a native of Ayanikad and his daughters Gopika and Jyothika, aged 15 and 12.

Sumesh's body was found on the railway track near his house. The bodies of the girls were found in the house. The primary conclusion is that the children died after consuming poison. Sumesh's wife died of Covid four years ago.

Sumesh was found dead around 8 am this morning. Police reached the spot and have taken further procedures. After the inquest proceedings, the bodies will be taken for post-mortem. Police said the cause of death of the children will be clear only after getting the post-mortem report.
