‘Suspect Hashim to have created accident to kill daughter’; father lodges complaint

accident

PATHANAMTHITTA: A complaint has been lodged for a thorough investigation to be conducted in the case over the death of two people when their car rammed into a lorry in Pattazhimukku. Raveendran, father of Anuja, a teacher who died in the accident, lodged a complaint with the Nooranad police. He said that he filed the complaint as he has doubts that the accident was deliberately created to kill his daughter.

Raveendran said that Hashim, friend of Anuja who died in the accident, threatened her daughter and forcibly took her in his car from Kulakkada and he drove the car at high speed and then rammed the vehicle into the lorry killing his daughter. The investigation related to the incident is going on at the Adoor police station. Therefore, the Nooranad police have handed over his complaint to the Adoor police. The Adoor police informed that they are also checking the phone calls of Anuja and Hashim and whether there are any bank transactions between the two.

Meantime, the lorry driver from other state was dropped from the case in connection with the accident, the other day. The investigation team submitted a report to the court ruling out culpable homicide. It was found earlier that the car was deliberately rammed into the lorry. The action was as follows. The lorry driver and his vehicle were released later.

Anuja and Hashim died in the accident last Friday morning. The car which was speeding in the wrong direction rammed into the lorry which was going from Adoor towards Pathanapuram. Both were not wearing seat belts and the two died on the spot itself.

When Anuja was returning from a school excursion, Hashim blocked the vehicle and forcefully took her with him in his car. Anuja introduced Hashim as her relative Vishnu before leaving with him in his car. Hashim then drove the car at high speed. When the teachers called Anuja on the phone, she hung up crying. She didn't pick up their calls after that. Following this, teachers called Anuja's house and informed her father and husband about the matter. That was when they realised Anuja did not have a relative named Vishnu. When the teachers called her again, Anuja answered the call and said that she was safe. The teachers later went to the Adoor police station and lodged a complaint. They came to know about the accident after that.
