KOTTAYAM: Mariamma Oommen, who inaugurated the UDF's constituency convention in Kottayam's Kooropada, said that Puthupalli and Oommen Chandy have an inseparable relationship.

"Oommen Chandy's unbreakable bond with the people continues even after his death. I am inaugurating this convention as a representative. The emptiness he created is inside everyone. He passed away after giving Junior Oommen Chandy to the people. With the energy from the Oommen Chandy emotion, UDF candidate K Francis George should win in the Kottayam Lok Sabha constituency with a double majority than Chandy Oommen won in the assembly by-election," Mariamma said.

Mariamma Oommen also shared memories of Oommen Chandy wearing Francis George's father KM George's shirt. Constituency convener Sabu C Kurian presided over the meeting. MLAs Thiruvanjoor Radhakrishnan, Chandi Oommen, candidate Adv Francis George, Joshy Philip, Radha V Nair etc. spoke.
