THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured the safety of children studying abroad. You have seen it in Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Israel, Sudan and lastly in Russia," External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said as he visited the state for the Lok Sabha election campaign.
Jaishankar came to the state capital to campaign for his colleagues Rajeev Chandrasekhar and V Muraleedharan in the Union Cabinet. While leaving Hotel Hyacinth in the morning for campaigning, Jaishankar said that he came to campaign in Kerala for two reasons. The first one is that Kerala is the largest globalized state in the country. The second reason is the promise that he had made to Muraleedharan that he would campaign for him wherever he contested.
Jaishankar started the campaign works with a road show related to the submission of nomination papers of NDA candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency. The roadshow was held from Peroorkada to Kudappanakunnu Civil Station. The locals who stood on both sides of the road were excited as the Union Minister waved at them with an innocent smile from the open jeep. He then asked them to vote for NDA to ensure the safety of children.
"PM Modiji will ensure the safety of our children wherever they go to work or study. That is Modi's guarantee," Jaishankar said.
In the evening, he went to Attingal to participate in V.Muraleedharan's election program. A huge crowd, including expatriates, gathered in the hall of the Anamthara resort. Anchuthengu native Prince Sebastian, who escaped from Russia and returned home the other day, was present. Prince's family members and the family members of David, who is trapped in Russia, were also present.
"In the past, people did not know who their External Affairs Minister was. Today, the External Affairs Minister has become the person who ensures the safety of our homes," said Dr B. Radhakrishnan Nair, MD of Attingal Amar Hospital.
Jaishankar added that V Muraleedharan also had a good credit in ensuring the safety of Indians. He said that Muraleedharan had a huge role in improving India's relations with the Gulf countries.
