ABU DHABI: Are you an avid fisherman? If so, you might be interested in participating in a fishing competition in Abu Dhabi for a chance to win a prize of two lakh dirhams (equivalent to 45 lakh Indian rupees). The Abu Dhabi Grand Kingfish Championship is organizing this event for fishing enthusiasts.
Winners will be determined based on the weight of the Spanish mackerel fish they catch during the competition, which is scheduled to take place from April 19 to 21.
The organizers have announced that cash prizes totaling 10 lakh dirhams will be awarded to winners up to the 60th place, with each winner receiving two lakh dirhams. Those interested can register on the Abu Dhabi Sports Council website (adsc.ae) until April 15, with a registration fee of AED 200.
Detailed competition rules will be provided at the Muhammad Khalaf Majlis in Abu Dhabi Karama on April 16 at 7 am. Boat allocations will take place from April 16 to 18 and all participating boats will gather near the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club beach on April 19.
Preparations will commence with the raising of the yellow flag at 11 am, signaling the start of the three-day fishing competition with the hoisting of the green flag.
