Woman jumps into well with three kids in Thrissur; two children die

THRISSUR: Two children died after their mother jumped into a well taking her children along, following a dispute over financial liabilities at Erumapetty in the district. The two died have been identified as Abhijay (7) and Aadidev (6) of Poonthiruth House. Sayana (29) and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Agnika, who fell into the well, have been admitted in Thrissur Medical College Hospital.

Akhil's wife Sayana (29) jumped into the well along with her three children staying near Vellattanjoor Church around 2.20 pm on Tuesday. The police and the locals fished out the four from the well and took them to the hospital, but two of the children had died. The woman and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, who were admitted to the hospital, is out of danger. Her husband Akhil was not at home when Sayana jumped into the well. A dispute over financial obligations led the woman to take the drastic step. The bodies of the dead were shifted to the mortuary. The Erumapetty police registered a case and started investigation.
