Jesna's went for secret Thursday prayer; Father responds to love jihad controversy

KOTTAYAM: Jesna's father, James, contends that the local police failed to adequately investigate the case, dismissing allegations of communal agendas, including Love Jihad. He asserts that Jesna's belongings were found in the Mundakayam area. He absolves the CBI of blame and suggests that more information will be disclosed on the 19th.

Jesna Maria James, a second-year B.Com student of Kanjirapally SD College, disappeared on March 22, 2018. James recently informed the court that he believes his daughter is deceased and claims to possess digital evidence, including pictures of an unknown friend suspected to be involved.

Advocate Srinivasan Venugopal, in a petition submitted to the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court, asserts that James has additional information about this friend, who allegedly had a clandestine relationship with Jesna. The petition maintains that a thorough CBI investigation could yield evidence, including pictures of this friend and warns against any oversight that might lead to critical errors. There are concerns that the friend may tamper with evidence if aware of CBI involvement. It's mentioned that Jesna frequented a secret prayer spot every Thursday, coincidentally the day she went missing, but alleges that this angle was not investigated.
