KOTTARAKKARA: P Anupama, the third accused in the case of abducting a six-year-old girl from Oyoor, has filed a bail plea. The bail plea was filed in Kollam Additional Sessions Court 1 the other day through advocate Prabhu Vijayakumar. This is the first time such a move has been made by the accused in the case. Anupama requested the court to grant her bail so that she can continue her studies.

The girl was abducted on November 27, 2023 by K R Padmakumar (51) of Chathanur, his wife M R Anitha Kumari (39) and daughter P Anupama (21). They abducted the girl for ransom while she was going for tuition with her brother at 4.30 pm. The three later abandoned her at Asramam ground and fled to Tamil Nadu.

The police arrested them from Tenkasi on December 2. After investigation, the Kollam Rural Crime Branch filed the chargesheet within 90 days. The police said Padmakumar and his wife planned to kidnap the children. Their daughter, who is a social media influencer, joined them later.
