KOCHI: Police have registered a case against two Jewish women of Australian origin for destroying pro-Palestine posters in Kochi. The Fort Kochi police booked the two women tourists for creating a rivalry between the two religious groups. The alleged incident took place on Monday. The footage of the incident has gone viral on social media. The footage showed women on tourist visas standing next to torn pro-Palestinian posters.

The young women will be under police surveillance at their homestay in Fort Kochi. ACP KR Manoj said that the two will be produced in court if necessary.

The poster was placed in the area by the Students Islamic Organization (SIO), the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami. Following the incident, SIO workers filed a complaint with the police against the destruction of the poster. The police registered the case after the SIO activists protested in front of the police station on Tuesday demanding that a case be filed against the young women.
