Another death after eating shrimp; 46-year-old dies at Kochi

KOCHI: Sibin Das (46), a resident of Neerikode died after consuming shrimp curry. The incident occurred last Wednesday around 8:30 PM when the young man felt suffocated following his meal and succumbed while being taken to a private hospital.

Police have reported that samples of Sibin's internal organs have been sent for testing. Sibin worked as a distributor of engine oil and was survived by his wife Smitha, who works as a nurse in Malta and their two children.

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old woman named Nikitha, hailing from Palakkad, also died after eating shrimp curry. The incident took place on the 6th of this month. Nikitha experienced severe itching all over her body after consuming the dish and was subsequently admitted to a private hospital in Thodupuzha. Nikitha worked as an optometrist in a private eye shop in Thodupuzha and was the daughter of Gopala Krishnan and Nisha.
