CHENNAI: Actor Vijay flew down from Russia to Chennai to cast his vote in the Lok Sabha elections. The actor was in Russia for the shooting of his latest film 'GOAT'. After reaching Chennai, Vijay cast his vote at the polling booth in Neelankara Wales International School on Friday morning.
This is the first general election that is being held after Vijay floated his political party. As a large number of fans thronged to the polling station to catch a glimpse of their favourite star, the police had to work hard to make way for Vijay to the polling booth. During the previous election, Vijay had gained the attention of the people by travelling to the polling booth on a bicycle.
Polling was held for 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu. According to the latest reports, the state has recorded an estimated 72.09 per cent voter turnout.
