KASARAGOD: The district administration is tightening measures to prevent fraudulent voting following an incident of registering votes at home in Kalliasseri. Polling officials have been instructed to ensure citizens' privacy while recording their votes at home. Kasaragod District Collector K Inbasekhar also stated that legal action will be taken against those spreading misleading messages about EVM commissioning. A misleading voice message regarding EVM commissioning is being circulated, prompting a forensic examination.

Lapses on the part of officials leading election activities in the Kasaragod Parliamentary Constituency are estimated. A fraudulent vote occurred in the presence of officials during the recording of votes at home in Kalliasseri constituency, leading to the suspension of responsible polling officials.

Regarding the extra votes for BJP in the mock poll held at Kasaragod Government College, officials are believed to have been lax. The district administration decided to tighten actions following continuous failures by officials. As part of this effort, strict instructions have been given to polling officers leading the work of recording votes at home.
