KOCHI: A case has been filed against the producers of the film 'Manjummel Boys'. The police registered the case as per the order of Ernakulam First Class Magistrate Court, against Shaun Anthony, Soubin Shahir and Babu Shahir. The case is under charges of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and forgery. The court had earlier frozen the bank accounts of Parava Films and partner Shaun Antony.

The court's order was on the plea filed by Siraj Valiyathara Hameed, a resident of Aroor, who spent Rs 7 crores for the making of Manjummel Boys. His plea alleged that the producers, who had promised 40 percent profit share, after accepting the money, cheated without paying profit share or investment.

The plea also mentioned that the producers of the film have acquired another Rs 20 crore through OTT platform rights. The court had sent notice to the producers of the film Soubin Shahir and Babu Shahir. The case was registered after that.

'Manjummel Boys' directed by Chidambaram is the first 200 crore film in Malayalam. The film was a hit in Tamil Nadu as well. Soubin Shahir, Srinath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathy, Lal Jr., Chanthu Salim Kumar, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Deepak Parambol, Khalid Rahman, Arun Kurien, Vishnu Reghu and others played central characters in the film.
